During Team Green's Learning Circle conversation with Dr. Margaret Riel, I realized that my initial Overall Research Question invited a "yes" or "no" response (from an earlier Blog entry):
Initial Overall Action Research Question
Can training coupled with coaching, performance support and incentives increase self-efficacy and skill levels of non-sales people to create a permanent increase in their frequency of performing a sales presentation?
Instead, I need to frame my Overall Research Question so that it is more open ended.
I have modified my research question.
Revised Overall Action Research Question (10/5/2012)
How can we increase the incidences of healthcare office workers providing comprehensive financial discussions through a combination of e-learning and face to face training, telephone coaching, performance support and incentives?
Why is this Important?
A closed ended, yes or no question leads to a snap yeas or no response that will yield no learning.
An open question lead to exploration of a topic of interest that will then lead to discovery and learning.
How do I Feel About This?
A basic mistake has been corrected. Time to move on.
